Gold Coast

We went to Gold Coast, Australia with my sister Siew Foong on 13th Nov’10 to 19th Nov’10.We begin our holiday with a pleasant flight by SQ to Brisbane – The Capital City of Queensland.
On day 2, we transfer to Holt Street Wharf to board a 75 minute catamaran cruise to Moreton Island. We check-in to Tangalooma Wild Dolphins Resort. In the afternoon, we went on a 4WD Desert Safari Tour and experience the thrills of Sand Tobogganing. I came down the sand one time, Kenny and my sis came down two times and Jesslyn came down three times. (she is young and she got the stamina to climb up the hill). At night, we experience the Wild Dolphins feeding.
On day 3, we took the catamaran back to Brisbane. Upon arrival, we begin an unforgettable tour of Australia’s popular tourist attraction – Warner Bros. Movie World. All of us dare not tried the Superman Escape ride – an unprecedented roller-coaster ride. We watched an exciting pre-show adventure themed around the world’s most popular super heroes.
On day 4, we enjoy a morning full of fun as we head out to Tweed River for the multi tourism award winning “Catch A Crab” tour and cruise. As you can see from the pictures, Jesslyn, my sister and myself were holding the Crab. We even have the chance to taste the freshly cooked crabs. In this cruise, we had tried our hand on yabbie pumping, pelican feeding and fishing. During the yabbie pumping, we are having a lot of fun. We caught the most yabbie among our tour group, total 9 pieces. Most of it were caught by Kenny. At the end of the cruise, we all have the opportunity to sample fresh oysters. After a sumptuous buffet lunch, we proceed to Tropical Fruit World – Australia’s largest fruit plantation. Also the world’s largest variety of tropical fruit. We even had a chance to taste the variety of tropical fruit. We hop onto the tractor train for a safari through a plantation laden with 500 kinds of fruit. After that, we stop by the Super Bee Honey Factory to watch its live bee show and a honey-making demonstration.
On day 5, is free at our own leisure. In the morning, we went to the beach. The waves are very strong, Jesslyn and Gabriel enjoy running towards me whom taking photo of them when the wave came. We went to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre for shopping in the afternoon and spent the whole afternoon shopping and eating. At the evening, we went to the night market near the beach after taking our Chinese set dinner.
On day 6, we went to Dreamworld – some of the most spine-tingling, knee-knocking ultimate scream machine in the country. We took a walk on the wild side at the Australia Wildlife Experience. We get up close to the kangaroos and feed them. My sister cuddle a koala and we took a picture with the koala. We went for a Oakey Creek Farm Show to watch how they shear a sheep. Ride junkies will find their thrill fix on the Big Six: The Cyclone rollercoaster; the Giant Drop; the Tower of Terror; the Claw and the Wave plus the Mick Doohan Moto Coaster ride. We play twice the Allien vs Predator vs You – a laser battled based on the Allian vs Predator film. Too bad we did not tried all this rides…(No guts but my sis actually intent to tried the Giant Drop but not enough time as a lot of people is lining up). In the evening, we went to an optional tour – Glow Worms night tour. We pay for AUD88 for an adult and AUD55 for a child – total AUD374.00 for this optional tour. We visited the unique World Heritage listed Springbrook National Park which has been added to the World Heritage list for it’s universal significance and is now protected forever. An expert eco guides took a small group of 10-12 passengers, our guides is a Taiwanese. We went for an evening rainforest walk to see the Australian Glow Worms in a unique cave featuring a cascading waterfall. The scenery is so beautiful and we enjoy breathing the fresh air walking in the dark forest.

On day 7 is also our free time as our departure time is in the late evening. We spent almost our money, therefore we just wonders in the shopping area and took some funny pictures.
